A huge congratulations to Ashlyn Guthrie, who had the honor of representing Foreman High School as the Gator Ambassador at the Little River Chamber of Commerce Banquet last night! Ashlyn, daughter of Sherry and Bobby Guthrie, is a standout student who’s involved in so many amazing activities. She plays volleyball and basketball, and also judges floriculture. Alongside her athletic and extracurricular pursuits, Ashlyn is an active member of Student Council, National Honor Society, FFA, FCA, and Key Club. Looking ahead, Ashlyn plans to attend Cossatot Community College after high school to pursue an Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy. When asked what she loves most about Foreman High School, she said, "I love how my school offers so many ways to explore different interests, whether it’s through clubs, sports, or extracurricular activities. It allows me to grow in ways beyond just academics." We are so proud of Ashlyn for representing FHS with grace and commitment at the banquet. She truly embodies the spirit of our school, and we can't wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish in the future!

At every board meeting, Supt. Matthews recognizes "GATOR SUCCESS." While last night we had more than one. Would like to take a moment to acknowledge Ms. Miller and her Kindergarten class. Ms. Miller said, "Our kindergarten class had an amazing time with our Hearts Around the World project! Our goal was to receive Valentine’s cards from all over, and we were thrilled to get 71 cards from 36 states and 4 different countries (Canda, Mexico, South Korea, and the United Kingdom)! Through this project, we explored maps, learned cardinal directions, and discovered fun facts about different places. Some highlights included real shark teeth from South Carolina, a stunning card from South Korea, and postcards from the United Kingdom! For many of our students, receiving mail is a rare treat, and their excitement was priceless!"

Congratulations to Mrs. Allie Carr! We are excited to announce that Mrs. Carr has been voted as Foreman School District's Teacher of the Year! Superintendent Mr. Matthews and Elementary Principal Mrs. Paden had the honor of celebrating her outstanding achievement at last night’s board meeting, recognizing her for "Gator Success." In just her 5th year of teaching, Mrs. Carr has made a tremendous impact on OHE. She currently teaches 3rd and 4th grade literacy and has shown unwavering dedication to her students and the profession. Through building strong relationships, setting high expectations, and using engaging teaching strategies daily, Mrs. Carr truly embodies excellence in education. Last year, she was ranked in the top 5 in the state for ELA student growth and was awarded through the Merit Teacher Pay Initiative for her remarkable efforts. Mrs. Carr is not just a standout teacher, but also an invaluable asset to our entire staff! We are so proud to have her as part of our team!
