Foreman High School Daily Announcements Good morning, Gators! Today’s date is: Friday October 25, 2024 Project Prevent is hosting its annual anti-vaping contest. There is a flyer in all the grade Google classrooms with details. Winners will get a pizza party! FHS is getting ready for Trunk-or-Treat Halloween night 6pm. All clubs and sports are encouraged to participate. We also need bags of candy! For every two bags of candy brought to school, one hour of community service will be given. Homecoming ceremony in the basketball gym at 1pm today (10/25) Homecoming dance is this tomorrow, Saturday (10/26). Tickets are $15 and available in the office or at the door. There will be free pizza thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Riley from Bridging the Gaps of Arkansas! Games in the SWAMP: Fri (10/25) Homecoming ceremony 6:30pm on the field. Foreman FBLA students attended the District IV Fall Leadership conference at U of A in Hope this week where new local chapter officers were recognized on stage in a formal ceremony. District IV includes 35 Arkansas schools with 735 students present for this event. They were entertained by a new band made up of Arkansas students who just signed a management contract and publishing deal in Nashville, TN! Y’all watch out for Sophie and the New Relics! They are amazing!

Everrette Martz was the Farm Bureau Player of the Week for the Foreman Gators in their game against Spring Hill. Everrette had 2 receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown on offense and an interception on defense for the Gators. 🏈🐊

This was their first time making it to regionals! Congratulations to our Gator Marching Band! They received an “Excellent” rating from all of their judges last night, which means they are STATE BOUND, AGAIN! Juniors & Seniors attended a college fair at the CCCUA Lockesburg campus today. They were able to obtain information from various university representatives from all across the state.

This morning, FHS had special guests on campus. Barbara Pitts Riley and Johnny Riley, CEO of Bridging the Gaps Arkansas. They came to speak with our students as part of our Red Ribbon Week campaign.The duo spoke on drug and vaping awareness and prevention. The pair also handed out cool gifts and will be providing pizza Saturday night at our homecoming dance. Thank you so much to the Riley's!

Homecoming events with times and marked parade route!

Ms. Millers class had Mrs. Katie Hooker from Weyerhaeuser come and talk about the forest! The students learned all about how a forest grows and the various products that come from trees (Goods from the Woods). The presentation was interactive and helped the children understand the importance of forests in our everyday lives. Mrs. Katie, also read Weyerhaeuser's published book, My First Word Was Tree, which the students really enjoyed. At the end of the session, each student received a special Weyerhaeuser pencil to take home. It was a wonderful experience that helped foster an appreciation for nature and sustainability!

We fell just shy of our goal in August so our next goal is to get 18 units! SENIORS, this is your last year to give donations for a blood donor cord. Sign-up form is on Mrs. Samantha Smith’s door!
